From beginning to end, the Northwest was honored this year to have right in its backyard such priceless musical and artistic gems as Brazil's Amizade, the spirit-roving gospel of The Blind Boys of Alabama on Friday, the beautiful harmonies of Lo'Jo, and an acoustic performance from none other than WOMAD co-founder, Peter Gabriel, to name only a few. All-in-all, it was a good weekend. Maybe it was the year you fell in love, bought your first Pavement album and drove your first car, a rust-colored beater with too many bumper stickers, into the ground.
